Our Lady of Lourdes Parish is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for all children, youth, and vulnerable adults. In cooperation with the Diocese of Kansas City–St. Joseph, all clergy, employees, and volunteers who work with minors are required to complete Safe Environment training and undergo a background screening before serving in ministry.

The parish also incorporates age-appropriate safety education for children and teens through programs such as Circle of Grace and the Praesidium Safety Program, which teach respect for personal boundaries and the dignity of every person. Parents may review or opt out of these lessons if they wish.

Ongoing education and renewal of training are part of our parish’s continuing commitment to safety and transparency in ministry. By following diocesan guidelines, Our Lady of Lourdes works to create a faith-filled community where everyone can grow in trust, holiness, and respect for one another.
