Reflection on
Psalm 60:7-13

>"Give us aid against the foe, for worthless is the help of men." (Ps 60:13)

Today's psalm is the prayer of a people whose world has been shaken. The psalmist describes the land as cracked and tottering, and the people as dazed by hardship, like someone staggering from strong wine. It is a vivid image of those moments in life when everything seems uncertain—when our health, relationships, plans, or sense of security are shaken.

In these times, we are tempted to rely solely on our own strength, experience, or resources. Yet the psalm reminds us that human strength has limits. The people turn to God and cry out: "Help us with your right hand, O Lord, and answer us." They recognize that true security and lasting help come from God alone.

When life feels unsteady, the Lord invites us not to despair, but to trust more deeply in Him. He is the One who repairs what is broken, strengthens what is weak, and leads us through every trial.

Takeaway Questions:
•What areas of my life feel unsteady or "cracked" right now?
•Where am I relying more on myself than on God?
•How can I place greater trust in the Lord today?

Prayer:
"Lord, when life feels uncertain and my own strength is not enough, help me to trust in You. Repair what is broken in my life, strengthen my faith, and guide me by Your loving hand." -Amen.

"Jesus, We Trust in You!"
